SLEEP PROBLEMS

Are you having difficulty falling asleep, staying asleep or waking up too early?  Is poor sleep impacting your ability to engage in your life?

You may benefit from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I), a short-term (6-8 session) intervention based on the science of sleep.  It is effective in improving both quality and quantity of sleep. The American Academy of Sleep Medicine recommends CBT-I as the first line treatment for insomnia even when compared to medication.

TRAUMA AND PTSD

Traumatic experiences can lead to significant distress and life disruptions.  You may feel anxious, on edge, and overwhelmed by intrusive memories.  You may pull away from the activities and people you love.

Trauma-focused treatment can help you process the experience, build resilience and re-engage in your life.  I have specialty training in evidence-based treatment for PTSD, including Cognitive Processing Therapy and Prolonged Exposure, and extensive experience in implementing them to treat interpersonal trauma.

DEPRESSION

Depression is more than just sadness.  You may experience a lack of interest in things you once enjoyed, low mood, and feelings of hopelessness.  Depression can also impact your sleep, appetite and concentration.  It is the most common mental health concern.

Treatment can help you re-engage in a life of meaning.  I have expertise in multiple evidence-based treatments for depression, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Interpersonal Therapy

ANXIETY

Anxiety is an emotion characterized by worried thoughts and physical changes like shortness of breath and increased blood pressure.  You may experience recurring intrusive thoughts or concerns and start avoiding certain situations.  You may also experience physical symptoms such as panic attacks and rapid heartbeat.

Treatment can help you learn skills to quiet your mind and re-engage in meaningful activities.  I have expertise in multiple evidence based treatments for anxiety, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy

LIFE CHANGES & TRANSITIONS

Life transitions, including the loss of a close relationship, changes in your role at home or at work or the death of a loved one, can result in feelings of loss, sadness and confusion.  The development of a new chronic medical condition can also disrupt life and lead to feelings of depression and anxiety.

Therapy can help you clarify your values, improve your relationships and build a sense of purpose.

RELATIONSHIP ISSUES

Long-lasting and healthy relationships are important for our well-being, but are not always easy to maintain.  You may experience difficulty trusting others, relationship tension or a sense that your needs are not being met.

Therapy can help you learn new ways to regulate your emotions, communicate your needs and shift unhelpful behaviors.
